Dragon’s Dogma 2 All Vocations

Here are three categories of classes in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Starting Vocations, Advanced Vocations, and Hybrid Vocations.

Starting Vocations: Fighter, Archer, Thief, and Mage

All four of these vocations are unlocked by default and you can use them at the start of the campaign.

Fighter –

Fighter

Fighters wield a one-handed sword and shield which lends itself to defence rather like a front-line tank. Fighters not only defend themselves but also their allies by Placing themselves in the battle and drawing attacks towards themselves

Fighters can enhance Shield skills, offering protection to you and your allies as they level up. Other available skills can enhance damage-dealing abilities so the Fighter can turn himself into a formidable force in combat.

How to Unlock Fighter:

The fighter is automatically unlocked at the beginning of the game.

Archer

Archer

Archers are ranged combatants and attack their enemies with arrows. They are quite nimble and can move swiftly across the battlefield. They stay out of enemy range and rely on their skill to fire multiple arrows in a row.

As you level your Archer, they gain access to skills that allow you to shoot the arrows more swiftly. You will also be able to put more distance between you and the enemy.

How to Unlock Archer:

Archer is also automatically unlocked at the beginning of the game.

Thief

Thief

A combatant that focuses on delivering quick bursts of melee damage to enemies. Thieves are mobile and can quickly strike many times. But they incur less damage with each consecutive blow. However, as they level up they can inflict and also increase their mobility.

This helps them in dodging the enemy climbing up on large creatures to inflict damaging blows. But as they do not have much defensive capabilities Thieves need to be careful that they don’t get caught in the middle of a group of enemies.

Mage

Mage

A Mage uses a staff and can wield magick offensively, defensively or in support. They also have healing spell which makes them a valuable addition to any party.

Mages can be weak but if they manage to maintain distance from the enemy, their offensive spells can be quite devastating.

How to Unlock Mage:

The mage is automatically unlocked at the beginning of the game.

Advanced Vocations

There are two Advanced Vocations in Dragon’s Dogma 2: Warrior and Sorcerer.

Warrior

Warrior

The Warrior relies on their heavy armour and their strength to carry them through combat. They specialize in fighting with two-handed weapons such as the greatsword and hammer and can land powerful single blows with them,.

On levelling up they can attack multiple enemies with a single swing of their weapon. They are also able to control the attack by hitting enemies with stunning blows.

How to Unlock Warrior:

To unlock the Warrior, you need to find a two-handed weapon. As the two-handed weapons aren’t sold at shops, you’ll need to procure one from a treasure chest out in the world.

One of the easiest ways to get your hand on a Warrior is to follow through with an early-game quest the Vocation Frustration. You can learn about this by talking to the Vocation Guild receptionist in Vernworth.

They will tell you of the local weapons shop, whose stock has been hijacked by monsters on the roads. You’ll be tasked to go to Trevo Mine taken over by the goblins it is located northwest of Vernwort.

In the cave, there is a treasure chest that contains a basic greatsword. Bring the greatsword back to Vocation Guild and you’ll be able to unlock the Warrior vocation.

Sorcerer

Sorcerers channel their arcane energy through large staves. They specialize in ranged magick attacks and have access to spells that can cause damage to the enemies. However, the power takes longer to charge and cast such spells.

How to Unlock Sorcerer:

To unlock the Sorcerer find the archistaff. At the beginning of the game, archistaves aren’t sold at shops. Mystic Spearhand

The Mystic Spearhand specializes in melee and magick, this will give you the ability to attack at close and long range. As a Mystic Spearhand, you will fight with your specialized weapon called the Duospear.

This weapon enables you to attack multiple enemies simultaneously. You will be able to paralyze your enemies or throw the bodies of defeated foes at other attackers.

How to Unlock Mystic Spearhand:

Unlocking the Mystic Spearhand you need to complete two quest paths.

Quest 1:

For Quest 1 you need to go to the ransacked village of Harve, located directly west of Vernworth, on the coast. If you hang around here Fyoran a beastren man will ask for help in clearing out the monsters.

Accept the Scaly Invaders’ quest and defeat the Saurians. Return to Harve after completing your quest and when more saurians attack defeat the latest pack of monsters to complete the quest.

Another quest Trouble on the Cape will be unlocked as you visit the village,. Fyoran will tell you about villagers trapped in a Stormwind Cave.

You agree to the mission and save the villagers after defeating the Saurians. But Fyoran will be dragged into an argument with the mayor, and be exiled from the village.

Quest 2:

When you return to the village of Melve you will find the village under siege from a drake. Here you will begin your second quest called the Readvent of Calamity. This opponent is powerful but you will defeat him with Ulrika’s and some armed guards help.

Among them is a Mystic Spearhand by the name of Sigmund. The drake will retreat after a few minutes of fighting due to Sigmund’s abilities.

Speak with Ulrika and leave the village. Go to t the village after a few days and visit Ulrika’s house. You’ll overhear her talking to Martin. You will spend the night in the village but in the morning you will find that Ulrika has disappeared, and the village’s protector, Lennart, will ask you to look out for her.

Ulrika has fled to Harve, the seaside village. You will find her standing on the pier, speak with her. Before returning to Melve inform Lennart that she is okay.

Return to Melve and after a few days you will find that soldiers have taken it over. A new quest Home Is Where the Hearth Is will begin.

Climb over one of the walls and enter the village go to Ulrika’s house and meet Lennart. He’ll explain that the villagers need weapons.

Take four swords from the storeroom, located down the village’s main path, ask the villagers to distract the guards and grab the swords from the chests inside.

Deliver them to Lennart fight the soldiers with the villagers and defeat them. Lennart and the villagers will move to Harve where Ulrika will join them.

The quest will be completed. Go to the top of the hill to Sigurd’s house ask him about his style of fighting, and you’ll finally unlock the Mystic Spearhand vocation.

Magick Archer

Magick Archer specializes in attacks done with pure magick. This class will engage in long-range combat and utilise magickal arrows for shooting and casting spells. These arrows always hit the target and are elemental, therefore you can target enemies based on their weaknesses.

How to Unlock Magick Archer:

To unlock the Magick Archer you will have to travel south to Volcanic Island. This area is difficult during the earlier hours of the game; the connecting roads have dangerous high-level enemies. So you need to be well-versed in shortcuts to reach your destination.

Head south until you come across a dwarven Gautstafr. He’ll complain of having a bad back and ask if you have any wildflowers, to mix a cure.

Hand him three wildflowers and escort him back to his home called the Windwalker’s Home on the small island just off the main road.

Here you will meet Gautstafr’s partner, an elven woman named Cliodhna. As the dwarf’s back starts acting up again, and you’ll be tasked with escorting him to the volcanic hot springs found further south.

Escort him to the baths and you’ll meet Cliodhna who will thank you for your assistance, and you’ll unlock the Magick Archer as a vocation.

Trickster

Trickster

The Trickster specializes in conjuring illusions through smoke created by Censer. The illusions cause enemies to attack each other. You can also use the smoke to create a spectral clone to draw the focus of attackers.

As a Trickster, you can create false areas of ground of cliffs or walls which you can see through but an enemy can’t. This helps your party to attack from a strong vantage point. You will also be able to increase the ability of Pawns.

How to Unlock Trickster:

To unlock the Trickster you will need to be a high level to make the journey. In the desert land of Battahl, go to a small temple called the Reverent Shrine. Visit the shrine and talk to the ghostly woman, called Luz. Ask her a question and you’ll unlock the Trickster vocation.

Warfarer

Warfarer

The Warfarer can use any combination of three weapons in the game. Your choice of weapons allows you to switch between any three different vocations and choose skills from your chosen weapons/vocations.

The Warfarer allows you to adapt your playstyle in response to different enemies and environments. But they need to be skilled in the use of weapons and analyzing combat situations.

How to Unlock Warfarer:

To unlock the Warfarer you’ll need to travel to the game’s southernmost location, the Volcanic Island; The volcanic hot springs. There, you’ll find a rather man called Lamond, lazing outside the hot spring reception desk.

Talk to him and he’ll ask for a good drink. Though Alcoholic items are not found in Dragon’s Dogma 2, you can make yourself one called Newt Liqueur. To make it you need to combine Fruit Wine with a Saurian Tail.

To get Saurian Tails you need to kill a Saurian and hack its tail.

Fruit Wine can be gained as a randomised quest reward in treasure chests. Lamond will ask for three bottles of Newt Liqueur to tell you of the Warfarer vocation.

So, you will purchase Newt Liqueur from a shady bar in Bakbattahl. You need to go to Higgs’s Tavern Standand and meet a secret Newt Liquer seller upstairs.

To gain access to the seller you must be a beastren, you can buy a Beastren Mask from a travelling merchant in Checkpoint Rest Town.
Go to Higgs’s Tavern Stand pick up sandbags and place them in the nearby fenced pen. You will then be taken to the secret seller upstairs

The seller has several Newt Liqueurs costing 5,000 gold. Once you’ve finally got the booze, head back to Lamond and give him the drink. he’ll soon unlock the Warfarer vocation for you.
