There are two methods that can be used to delete your ChatGPT account — Through Help Chat or Sending Mail.

Through Help Chat
To delete your ChatGPT account through Help Chat, follow the steps written below:
- First, visit ChatGPT’s official site and log in.
- Once logged in, click on the Updates & FAQ option located on the bottom left corner of the screen.
- When you do so, you will be taken to the FAQ pages.
- There, you need to click on the ChatGPT General FAQ
- Now, scroll down and click on the link mentioned in the FAQ ‘Can you delete my data?’
- Now, click on the Chat Icon located on the bottom right side of the screen.
- Now, click on the ‘Send Us Message‘ option and then select “Account Deletion” and complete the process.
- Once the process is completed, you will get a confirmation when the deletion has been completed.

Sending Email
To delete your ChatGPT account via Email, follow the steps written mentioned below:
- First, send an email to [email protected] from the mail that is associated with your ChatGPT account.
- In the subject line, write ‘Account Deletion Request‘.
- In the body section, you can mention the reason why you want to delete your ChatGPT account.
- Once written, send an Email.
- Once the email is sent, you have to wait for a few days until the deletion process is completed.
- That’s it.
Note: The procss of deactivating your ChatGPT account is also same. Instead of writing Account Deletion Request, you will have to type Account Deactivation Request via Emial.
