Want to add zkSync to Metamask but don’t know how? Well, we have written an ultimate guide explaining the entire process in a simple way.
For the unversed, MetaMask is a Cryptocurrency Wallet that can be used to store Ethereum. The best thing about Metamask is it can be used on a browser or Mobile application.
The process of adding Metamask to Chrome or installing it on a Mobile is pretty easy. Once done, you can store Ethereum and other ERC-20 tokens.
You can transfer these stored Ethereum or Tokens to any other Ethereum address by connecting the MetaMask to Ethereum-based apps or trading or gambling platforms.

However, there are some networks available that can be added to MetaMask. One of these networks is zkSync.
What Is zkSync?
zkSync is a layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum. It is developed by Matter Labs to solve the scalability issues of Ethereum.
It allows fast, cheap, and secure transactions by using a technology called zkRollups. For those unaware, zkRollups is a technology that uses zero-knowledge proofs to verify transactions.
It allows multiple transactions together and is processed off-chain in a single transaction.
zkSync handle up to 2,000 transactions per second, which is much faster than the other Ethereum networks.
Since zkSync provides faster and cheaper transactions, many MetaMask users want to add zkSync to MetaMask.

To help them, we decided to write a guide explaining how to add the zkSync to MetaMask.
Without any further ado, let’s get started:
How to Add zkSync to MetaMask
There are several ways to add zkSync to MetaMask but the easiest way to add the zkSync Network to your MetaMask account is with the Chainlist application.
Chainlist is a list of EVM networks that allows users to add any network to their MetaMask Wallet.
You can follow the steps written below to add zkSync to your MetaMask account with the Chainlist application.
- First, go to Chainlist.
- Now, connect your MetaMask Wallet.
- Click on the search bar at the top and search for ‘zkSync’.
- Next, tap on ‘Add to MetaMask’ and the verified zkSync Alpha TestnetRPC information will be automatically added to your extension.
- That’s it.
What Are Zero-Knowledge Proofs?
Zero-Knowledge Proof is used to prove to another party that they have a certain amount of information without revealing the information.
For example, if you have a certain amount of cryptocurrency coins, Zero-Knowledge Proofs prove that you own a certain amount of coins without having to reveal their private keys.
Is zkSync Safe?
According to our resources, we found the zkSync is safe to use. Currently, it is in development.
That’s all you need to know about how to add zkSync to MetaMask
