YuYu Hakusho Slugfest Character Tier List (2026)
The tier list is divided into four tiers of S, A, B, and C based on the character’s performance across game modes.
S-Tier:
It is the most versatile team, formed from the best characters, that will help you lead in the game.
Yusuke Urameshi – Spirit Wave (Offensive-DPS):
Yusuke is known for his strong damage and hits hard with high burst and combo potential. His attacks have a high damage output and is best in PvE and PvP.
His Spirit Gun deals heavy single-target and AoE damage. It also gets more powerful with each upgrade. Yusuke is great in arena battles. Works well alongside Kurama or Hiei.
Hiei – Master of the Darkness Flame (Swift Striker)
Hiei is known for his fast-paced, wide-range attacks. He is best in PvP, and his speed aura helps the team act first, outmanoeuvring enemies’ formations.
Hiei’s Dragon of the Darkness Flame move causes massive AoE damage. Pairs effectively with Kurama and Yusuke.
Kurama – Crimson Rose (Offensive):
Kurama uses vine attacks to control the layout of the battlefield. He works well in balanced teams with tanks and supports. Kurama’s plant-themed skills offer crowd control.
Kurama can transfer debuffs, eg, the Rose Whip’s Thorn Wheel for spirit power damage. Kurama works well with Hiei or Younger Toguro.
Younger Toguro (Defender)
Younger Toguro has high HP and defence. He’s quite useful in PvE due to his armour break skill. He serves as a tank for bosses.
He is also known to have an ability to scale up his power to 100% and absorb heavy damage. Younger Toguro works well with Genkai or Kurama.
A-Tier:
Characters in the A Tier are not as good as the ones in S Tier, but they are a must-have due to their strength and abilities to keep enemies at bay.
Kazuma Kuwabara – Dimension Sword
Kuwabara is a tank with a Spirit Sword, which allows dimensional cuts and also provides defence. He is best used in PvE and GVG games.
Kuwabara will work well at the frontline for PvE and GVG content. Pairs well with Yusuke or Genkai.
Genkai
Genkai specialises in healing and energy buffs. She can easily heal and boost energy for the team. Good in PvE, especially boss battles.
Genkai pairs well with Kuwabara for long fights.
Shinobu Sensui
Sensui is known to mix offence and defence Sacred Energy. Though less effective in early PvE
He is a Hybrid DPS/Support with Sacred Energy abilities.
Pairs good with Hiei or Kurama to form balanced hybrid teams.
Yomi
Yomi shines in the Demon World Tournament due to adaptable stats. Yomi pairs well with Kurama for control strategies.
B Tier:
These characters are not as powerful as S and A rank characters, but can deliver solid performance.
Mukuro
Mukuro is a fighter and packs a powerful punch, but needs protection. Her fragile nature holds her back in PvP battles.
She shines in the Demon World Tournament when paired with Yomi or Kurama.
Suzaku
Suzaku deals high area damage through lightning attacks. Best known for using the Lightning Arc / Makai Whistle.
A Ranged DPS bonds well with Genkai or Yusuke.
C Tier
Rando
Rando is a mage and specialises in Technique mastery, but falls short in raw damage.
It is a good PvE character alongside Kurama.
Elder Toguro
Elder Toguro is a tank with regenerative ability. But due to low damage and vulnerability to Kurama’s Sinning Treehis usefulness is quite limited. Works best when paired with Sensui.
YuYu Hakusho: Slugfest has PvP and PvE battles. Therefore, you will need characters that can tackle both.
Building a strong team will help win battles and progress through the game’s challenges easily.
Story mode (PvE) begins with some simple steps, but difficulties increase with progress. Therefore, you need strong units to withstand the enemies. In PvE, one has to prioritise tanks and healers to survive long battles.
PvP battles will pit you against other players, so utilise high-damage output and strategic synergy to outsmart the foes. Focus on high DPS and crowd-control units to gain an edge in the battles.
Creating a formidable, balanced team is the first step towards winning the game. Ensure that your team includes a tank, DPS units, healers and supporters to win the battles.
A diverse team can easily face off against various enemies and come out a winner in both PvE and PvP.
Therefore, opt for the strongest units available and diversify their roles for improved synergy.
