Here are some easy methods to fix Vivint Playback not working problem:
Update Vivint App
Keeping your app updated may solve the Vivint Playback not working issue
- Go to the main menu
- Select Settings.
- Select the Vivint App.
- Select Vivint App Update.
- Tap on Update
- The app will soon be updated.
Reinstall Vivint App
Reinstalling the app removes minor glitches and bugs and the app will once again work without any glitches.
- Go to Settings
- Tap on Apps
- Search for the Vivint App
- Tap on Uninstall.
- Wait for a few minutes
- Reinstall this app.
- Restart device
- Check if the issue is fixed.
Clear App Cache

An overloaded app cache may cause an issue with its performance. Always keep your app cache clear to avoid issues.
For Android users
- Open Settings.
- Tap on Apps.
- Click on the Vivint app.
- Tap on Storage and Cache.
- Click on Clear cache and Clear storage.
For iPhone users
- Go to iPhone settings
- Click on the Vivint App
- Tap on the Offload App button
- Reinstall the app.
Playback – Turn On and Off
Follow the steps below to turn on or off Playback for your cameras.
- Go to the Vivint Smart Home App
- Tap on the three-line menu icon.
- Select Device Settings.
- Select the camera you want to enable.
- Tap Recording.
- Toggle on the Playback option.
Reinstall Camera
You can try uninstalling and reinstalling the camera to solve the error:
- Go to the home screen
- Tap the menu icon.
- Choose Devices, and enter your PIN.
- Tap on Cameras
- Choose the camera.
- Tap Delete camera.
- Unplug the camera
- Press and hold the button till the light turns red
- Plug the camera back in.
- Wait until the light turns green.
- Go to the home screen.
- Tap the settings icon
- Choose Devices
- Enter your PIN.
- Tap Add device.
- Tap the camera you want to add
- Press the button on the camera till a tone sounds.
- The camera will connect to your system.
