Traeger App Not Working Fixes:
To fix the Traeger app not working issue, the first step is to update the app, clear its cache, and reinstall the app on your phone. If that doesn’t work, try re-pairing the grill by resetting its Wi-Fi and deleting it from the app before re-adding it.
Update Traeger App:
The first step in fixing the issue is to update the Traeger App. Make sure you have the latest version of the Traeger app installed from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Open the app store: Navigate to the Google Play Store or Apple App Store on your smartphone or tablet.
- Search for the app: Use the search bar to find “Traeger“.
- Tap update: If a new version is available, you will see an “Update” button. Tap it to begin the download and installation.
- Restart your device: Once the update is finished, it is a good idea to restart your device to ensure all changes are applied correctly.
Clear the Cache
Delete or clear cache, depending on your device:
Android: Go to Device Settings> App Settings > Traeger App > Storage > Clear Cache Data. For iOS users delete and reinstall the app.
For Android users
- Open your phone’s Settings.
- Navigate to Apps or Apps & notifications.
- Locate the Traeger App from the list.
- Tap on Storage or Storage & cache.
- Tap Clear Cache.
- Restart the Traeger app.
For iOS users
- Find the Traeger app on your home screen.
- Tap and hold the app icon.
- Tap Remove App and then Delete App to uninstall it.
- Go to the App Store and search for the Traeger app.
- Download and reinstall the app.
Reinstall App
To reinstall the Traeger app, uninstall the current version from your phone, then download it again from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- Go to your phone’s app store (Apple App Store or Google Play Store).
- Search for “Traeger”.
- Tap the Traeger app.
- Tap Install.
- Once the download is complete, open the app.
- Log in with your existing account information.
Force Quit & Restart the App:
Close the Traeger app completely from your phone’s recent apps menu. Then, restart your phone and open the app again.
Reset Your Grill’s WiFi:
If you’re still having trouble after reinstalling, you may need to reset your grill’s WiFi settings.
- Go to Menu > WIFI Information on the grill’s controller and then press and hold the Ignite button for 10 seconds to reset the WiFi connection.
- Attempt to pair again: Follow the instructions in the app to re-add your grill from the beginning.
Turn off Other Connections:
Temporarily disable your phone’s mobile data and Bluetooth, then try to connect to the grill again. Remember to turn mobile data back on after pairing.
Check iOS Private Relay:
If you are an iPhone user with iCloud Plus, turn off the “Private Relay” feature, as it can interfere with the connection. You can turn it back on after pairing is complete.
Try a Different Device:
Attempt to connect to the grill with a different smartphone or tablet to rule out an issue with your primary device.
